Your role

As DevOps engineer you will be responsible for managing our cloud infrastructure on AWS. We deploy our applications to AWS and private cloud platforms using Kubernetes. Our applications are developed primarily on Ruby on Rails.

From our DevOps Engineers, we expect stability, continuity and a forward looking attitude. You are specialised in IT systems maintenance but enjoy building new systems that prepare the business for future developments. You have experience building reliable and scalable systems and are capable of communicating with different teams in order to determine system specifications. You get a kick out of automating previously manual processes.

You are responsible for:

  • structurally preparing and executing tasks;
  • (pro)actively sharing knowledge within the team;
  • continuously improving the quality of services, processes and systems;
  • maintaining the AWS platform, including EKS, RDS, S3 etc;
  • maintaining the k8s and k3s platforms;
  • load balancer changes, security group changes, DNS changes etc.;
  • routine tasks to ensure the continuity of the platform.

We would love to hear from you if you match the following criteria:

  • Prior experience as a DevOps Engineer, Developer or Systems Administrator with all rounder tasks;
  • Solid knowledge of the Linux operating system;
  • Solid knowledge or experience with container technologies like Docker;
  • Solid knowledge or experience with one or more container orchestrators, preferably Kubernetes;
  • Solid knowledge or experience with modern monitoring solutions;
  • Solid knowledge or experience with one or more CI/CD systems, Gitlab CI is a pre;
  • Knowledgeable in one or more scripting languages, Ruby on rails is a pre;
  • All-round knowledge of Internet technologies (DNS, mail, SSL certificates);
  • Good understanding of the English, written and spoken. Dutch is preferred.
